Cornrows, also known as flat braids, are a technique of braiding hair straight to the scalp. They can be done straight back off the face, or in desired patterns such as zig zagging rows. Traditionally worn by African Americans, they are becoming increasingly popular for all hair types and textures. Following after care instructions with proper maintenance is essential to keep braids looking at their best and to get maximum time out of your set.

Dreadlocks are a modern approach to wearing your hair that are becoming increasingly popular in all cultures. Dreadlocking is an entirely different process form braiding. It involves knotting and twisting hair into thin sections. Despite popular thinking, dreadlocks are very clean if taken care of properly. Maintenance is required as with all hair treatments to ensure your dreads look their best. They are a permanent service which means that once they are formed into your hair they must be shaved or cut out.
